Anyone in Elmbridge who is affected by cancer can now access a dedicated advice service for help with money worries.
Citizens Advice Esher & District is proud to be part of the Macmillan welfare benefits service in Surrey. The service provides a team of dedicated advisers for people affected by cancer who are living in or being treated in Surrey. The team is here to help you understand how to manage the impact of a cancer diagnosis on your household budget, what support may be available and how you can access it.
Specialist advisers can answer your questions about claiming benefits and help explain what financial support, unemployment benefits or disability benefits you might be entitled to, such as Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Attendance Allowance (AA) or the Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
They can assist with:
- the benefits application process
- the benefits appeal process
- benefits eligibility criteria
- general benefits enquiries
They can also help with additional advice such as housing and employment and will signpost to other services where relevant.
